ROTARACT CLUB
Inaugural function of Rotaract club of Amria College of Education was conducted on 3rd April 2019. The meeting began at 03.30 pm. The programme started with Pooja followed by Rotary Invocation. The Principal of Amrita College of Education Dr.S.Krishna Priya delivered the welcome address. Revathy. M.U., I year student teacher was elected as the President of Rotaract Club of Amrita College of Education and was honoured with the President’s badge. The President delivered the acceptance speech followed by the introduction of New Office bearers of Rotaract club of Amrita College of Education. Ms. Abirami.J, one of the Board of Directors of Rotaract Club of Amrita College of Education, introduced the guest of honour. The Chief Guest, DGND. Major Donar Jascinda Dharma delivered the chief guest address. The inaugural function came to an end at 04.30 pm with the vote of thanks proposed by the secretary of Rotaract club, Nagercoil, Rtn.Selvaraj(AIR).
RECORDING AT ALL INDIA RADIO:
The student teachers with two faculties had their audio recordings at AIR,Nagercoil on 16th April 2019. Students gave awareness speech, songs, messages, debate on the theme “Child Abuse”. Rtn SelvaRaj, Secretary, Rotarct Club of Nagercil town Co-ordinated the Programme.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME:
The Rotaract Club of A College of Education conducted an awareness programme on 24-04-2019 on the topic “Health and Cancer Awareness”. The programme began 02.30 pm with the prayer song by Ms.Athira V.U & group followed by the welcome address of Ms.J.Abirami, Board of Director, I year student teacher. Dr. Anne Babian Roy, Dietician, Holy Cross Hospital,Nagercoil and Rtn. S.SenthilKumar,M.Sc, Ph.D, MD, Director, Shriram Cancer Trust were the resource persons. Dr. S.Krishna Priya, Principal delivered the presidential address. Dr. Anne Babian Roy talked on the topic “Food is Medicine”. She gave a lot of information regarding food habits and diet control. Rtn.S.SenthilKumar,M.Sc,Ph.D,MD gave a class on the topic “Cancer Awareness”. He gave a detailed description about how to prevent cancer. The programme was highly useful for women. The programme came to an end by vote of thanks proposed by M.U.Revathy, (President, Rotaract Club) I year student teacher.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND STUDENTS:
An awareness programme was organized by the Rotaract Club of Amrita College of Education, which was held on 3rd February 2020 at 1:30 pm in the Seminar Hall. The Programme began by invoking the blessing of Lord Almighty followed by Rotary Invocation. Rtn. Mr. Selvaraj (AIR), Joint Secretary, Rotary Club of Nagercoil Town welcomed the gathering. This was followed by the report presentation of the previous meet by the President, Rotaract club, Amrita College of Education. Dr. S. Krishna Priya, Principal, Amrita College of Education presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.The Chief Guest Address was delivered by Rtn. PAG. H. Saravana Subbiah. The gathering was followed by the felicitation of Rtn. Shihan.H.Raj, President, Rotary Club of Nagercoil Town and Rtn. PHF. G. Thakshna Murthy, Secretary, Rotary Club of Nagercoil Town. An awareness talk on the theme “Social Media and Students” was been spread by the faculties of the club. The part of addiction, measures to overcome the addiction and safety measures to be known and to be taught are being discussed in the club meet with aptness. The awareness talk was mainly roled as a part by Rtn. PHF. Dr. S. Surendran, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, S. T. Hindu College, Nagercoil. Mrs.V.Indira, Co-ordinator, Rotaract Club of Amrita College of Education accorded the words of gratitude. Finally the function came to an End by singing the National Anthem.
