NSS (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME)
The objective of NSS is to render service to the community while undergoing education in an institution. It seeks to arouse the social consciousness of students and provide them with opportunity to work with the people around educational campuses creatively and constructively and to put the education they receive to concrete social use. Its motto is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji`s Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing student`s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage.
NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of Amrita college of Education was started in the year 2020 with an objective to inculcate social consciousness and responsibility for our students. The enthusiastic students are engaged in activities to serve the society. The NSS unit of our college was funded by the Amrita Trust.
Our college students are enrolled as NSS volunteers. It is actively engaged in community and social services in and around the campus, through its regular community development activities on weekends & special camping in adopted villages / areas.
ACE NSS unit got approval from Tamilnadu Teachers Education University on 13-06-2022 for three years upto 2025.
