Electrical Machines Laboratory
Area:199.8sq.m
Lab in-charge: Dr.Shyni P Nair, Asst.Prof./EEE
The Objective of the Electrical Machines Laboratory is to teach students about the fundamentals, testing, speed control, performance characteristics, and behaviour of DC and AC machines, transformers, synchronous and asynchronous machines, and to provide them with experimental skills to familiarise them with the constructional details, working principles, and performance of these machines. This laboratory is arranged in an industrial-style assembly to give students an industrial sense.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The department of Civil Engineering provides excellent laboratory and
computing facilities to support regular academic work, frontier research work, and consultancy service in the
diverse specializations of Civil Engineering.
Apart from meeting the University norms, additional equipment is
installed in the laboratories to cater to the consultancy and research needs of the faculty and the students.
Class rooms are well furnished and ventilated. Smart Classrooms are
provided with all the teaching aids like LCD Projectors, Multimedia Computer, Audio Systems, etc., in order to ensure the
overall development of the students.
Surveying Laboratory
Civil engineers are involved in the accurate measurement of the earth’s surface to obtain reliable information for locating and designing engineering projects. The objective of this lab is to make student expertise and skilled to draw maps in suitable scale using various surveying instruments such as total station, theodolite, auto level, global positioning system (GPS), plane table, compass, and so on.

PHYSICS LABORATORY
Engineering Physics Laboratory is the basic science laboratory course in the first semester of four years Engineering Programme. The main objective of this course is to introduce different experiments to test basic understanding of physics concepts applied in optics, thermal physics, properties of matter and liquids. The main goal of this course is to demonstrate the basic scientific techniques used to carry out Engineering Physics concepts. Upon the completion of this course, the students will be able to apply principles of elasticity, optics and thermal properties for engineering applications. The laboratory experiments performed in this course complement the material covered in the Engineering Physics theory course.
