Amrita College of Engineering and Technology, Nagercoil celebrated the International day of Yoga on 21-06-2022 with the theme “Yoga for Humanity”. The programme started with the prayer song. Dr. A Kumar, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and NSS Programme Officer of the College delivered the welcome address. Our College Principal, Dr. R. Sampath Kumar gave the felicitation address and explained why we celebrate the International Day of Yoga on June 21, the longest day of the year. He also asked students to practice Yoga as a part of their routine life and experience its benefits. Mrs. Sri Vardhini, Counsellor Dejasvi, Rashtra Sevika Samithi, Bhowthic Pramukh, Kanyakumari, delivered the Chief Guest address and explained the origin and importance of Yoga. Also, she gave awareness about the invaluable benefits of Yoga and remarked “Yoga is India’s gift to humanity and a holistic approach to health and well-being, also it balancing mind, body, and soul”. A Yoga practice session was conducted by the special guest and her team members, a total of 225 students actively participated in the Practice session and interacted with the Yoga trainers, and gained information about the uses of Yoga. At the session's end, Dr. M. Kumara Dhas, Assistant Professor of Physics, delivered the vote of thanks. The Program ended with National Anthem.
