Digital Library

Library has a separate spacious section for digital Library with enough computer systems and high-speed networking facilities. The primary function of digital Library is to provide access to the students the following e-resources.

DELNET/Inter Library Loan

DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible.

NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY OF INDIA:

The National Digital library of India (NDLI) is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media. The NDLI provides free of cost access too many books in English and the Indian languages.

NPTEL:

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003. Five core disciplines were identified, namely, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering and 235 courses in web/video format were developed in this phase.

New Arrivals

New books are shelved on the “New Arrivals” shelves for a limited amount of time (usually 1 month) in order that library users may have a chance to browse new acquisitions and a list of new arrivals has been sent to user community by mail.
