Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) - Institutional Member
Coordinator:Ms. D. L. Ahila, AP/EEE
The Society is interdisciplinary in nature, with most of the leading energy researchers and manufacturers of renewable energy systems and devices of
the country as its members.
High academic attainments are not a prerequisite for membership and any person engaged in research, development or utilization of renewable energy or in fields related to
renewable energy and interested in the promotion of renewable energy utilization can become a member of the society.
SESI Activities:
- Encourage the students to publish a biannual technical journal containing papers on renewable energy utilization, technical notes, and other items of interest to those
involved in renewable energy research and development.
- Conduct workshops on renewable energy topics at regular intervals.
- Participate in the International Congress on Renewable Energy once a year,
conducted by the Solar Energy Society of India, where numerous scientific and technical papers are presented and discussed.

Electronics For You- Skill Development Centre (ESDC)
Coordinator: Mrs. A. S. Sarika
EFY is an Indian technology-oriented publishing organisation, based in New Delhi. The EFY Group’s first magazine, Electronics for You, was launched in January 1969, when the Indian electronics industry was still at an emerging stage. Today, it has grown into South Asia’s most popular electronics magazine. The company provides hands-on training courses, and manufacture and market Do-It-Yourself electronics projects and kits. EFY also conducts a set of major events on a regular basis, targeting design engineers, developers, technologists and technical decision makers. The biggest among these is EFY Conferences, under which comes Electronics Rocks as well as the iotshow event. These events also have short-term technical courses that are designed to provide students with practical hands-on training. In order to train and fine tune the talents of the Electronics and Communication Engineering students, an ESDC centre was started at Amrita College of Engineering and Technology in the year of September 2019.
Objectives of ESDC
The main objective of this initiative is to educate ECE students and ensure that the future engineers are well equipped with the latest technology skills that the growing Indian industry employers’ value. The initiative includes setting up a special skill development centre namely Electronics for you-Skill development centre (ESDC) to enable students to Create Design Build Operate (CDBO) innovative projects involving the use of modern technology. Such projects will make the students industry ready with advanced skills.
Benefits to the students
