Digital Teaching and Learning

For more than a century, the most predominant form of teaching learning in higher education has been classroom-based and instructor led face-to-face (F2F) interaction. Use of modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) which offer unprecedented opportunities to enhance learning effectiveness and hence access to quality teaching, learning and assessment. Under this context, faculty of Education need to be equipped with knowledge, skill, and ability in online teaching learning tools like Learning Management Systems, Virtual Classrooms, Online Assessment, etc. More importantly, F2F and online learning need to be integrated for best learning experience by both teachers and learners.

MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment)

Moodle is our learning management system (LMS). Students use Moodle to access their class materials, assignments, and give tests. College of Education is actively encouraging faculty and student members to adopt online teaching and learning and for this purpose, the following software tools are provided for 24 x 7 teaching, learning and assessment.

  • Moodle Learning Management System for self-paced Learning
  • Microsoft Team for collaborative learning
  • Google Classroom – for quick resource sharing

In addition, faculty and students are consistently motivated and supported to register, learn and earn certifications from the online learning platforms such as NPTEL. A separate Online Learning center is established for this purpose.

Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) of Amrita College of Education can be accessed at Before the start of each academic year, a new course page with a variety of digital activities and resources is created for every course offered by the respective course instructor.


Teachers and students are using Microsoft Team for organizing virtual classrooms and the resources are shared via Team SharePoint.


Google Classroom web service is used by the teachers and students to facilitate paperless interaction between them and to optimize the workflow in learning process through resource sharing.
