B.Ed. Programme

The content offered in the college during the two year B. Ed programme includes theory courses in ‘Perspectives in Education,’ and ‘Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies’ along with ‘Engagement with the Field’ as practical component which is a consolidation of teaching skills, pedagogical theory and professional skills that would help to create the right knowledge, attitude and skills in teacher students, thus promoting holistic development.

The duration of a B.Ed. program is for two years. B.Ed. programmes are offered in various specializations. ACE offers B.Ed. with the following specializations:

Teacher Education

Teacher Education = Teaching Skills + Pedagogical theory + Professional skills.

Teacher education encompasses teaching skills, sound pedagogical theory and professional skills. Accordingly, necessary training is provided to the student teachers of Amrita College of Education to acquire necessary teaching skills in the various techniques, approaches, and strategies that would help teachers plan and deliver instruction, provide adequate strengthening, and conduct effective evaluation. It includes effective management skills in schools, the planning and use of instructional materials and communication skills.

Pedagogical Theory incorporates the philosophical, sociological and psychological aspects that will allow the teacher students to have a sound base in the classroom to exercise the teaching skills. The theory is stage-specific and is based on the characteristic needs and requirements of that stage.

Career guidance Cell of our Institution conducts regular programmes to enhance professional skills of student teachers that include techniques, strategies and approaches to help teachers grow in their teaching profession and work towards professional growth. soft skills, counseling skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to retrieve and manage information and, above all, lifelong learning abilities.
