Responsibilities of Department’s Placement Coordinator
1)    Provides suggestions for improving the functioning of the Placements Cell in writing
2)    Provides the Placements Cell with a list of students who are eligible for placements under various categories immediately after every semester examination results are received from the University.
3)    Provides Campus Placement Training attendance statements of students undergoing such training to the placement cell and the HoD the following day along with observations highlighting the absentees’ names with Register Numbers
4)    Analyzes performance of students in each of the tests administered as part of Campus Placements Training regularly and shares the results with students, HoD, and Placement Cell.
5)    Facilitates in up-gradation of the students’ skillsets adequate with the expectations of the industry as per the chosen job track.
6)    Interacts with the department faculty/mentors of the respective students about any issues related to skill development and brings them to the attention of the Placement Cell and HoD concerned in writing.
7)    Maintains daily contact with the Placement Cell for information and disseminates it to concerned students, HoDs, and others involved.
8)    Participating actively in all meetings called by the Placements Cell and communicates the outcomes of such meetings to the concerned students, and others.
9)    Procuring and maintaining placement training course materials in the department for students' use.
10)  Provides information about students going for higher education to the Placements Cell regularly so that the Placements Cell can update its database.
11)  Maintaining alumni and industry database for event communication and sharing the same with the Placements Cell)
12)  Maintains close contact with alumni who have/are pursued/pursuing higher education and sharing their progress or success stories with the HoD, Placements Cell and students concerned.
13)  Contacts department alumni and explores the various opportunities that may be available to students for internships, placements, etc.
14)  Contacts alumni and the organisation in which he/she works to explore the various opportunities that may be available to students for internships, placements, etc. 
15)  Communicating with the Alumni about the institute's various activities regularly as and when any event is organised by the department
16)  Contacts alumni and arranging for guest lectures on CBS/ special topics of relevance, career guidance, etc. for the benefit of the department's students.

 


Responsibilities of the Placement Head/ Officer
1)    Arranging suitable internships for students, assisting, guiding and counselling them in converting their internship assignment into placement opportunity
2)    Assists placement coordinators and students about the hiring objectives of recruiters and ensures meeting the hiring objectives.
3)    Assists students in securing final placement in reputable corporations.
4)    Assists various companies in recruiting candidates based on their needs.
5)    Collaborates with faculty/department heads and administration to integrate career planning and academic curriculum to put students in their chosen job track, through facilitating the allocation of Track-based Assignment/ Mini Project Work/ Internship Training/ Industry Visit, etc.
6)    Conduct regular individual counselling and group sessions daily to assist students in developing/clarifying their academic and career interests, as well as clearly define their short and long-term goals. And providing students with the ability to make long-term career decisions.
7)    Creating an audio/video/document presentation about the departments/college and meeting the HR personnel for presentation purposes.
8)    Creating and maintaining a database of student profiles, web-based resumes and video resumes
9)    Enhancing the students' skillsets following industry expectations
10)    Identifying and meeting the training needs of students. 
11)    Immediately after the recruitment process is over, communicating the details of placed candidates and the detailed observations concerning failures to all HoDs and department placement coordinators.
12)    Keeping track of all relevant industry requirements for placements that are relevant to the aspirants' profiles.
13)    Liaisoning with industry for training, internship, guest lecture, industrial visit, etc.
14)    Maintaining hard copies of all offer letters received by the students
15)    Arranging to provide necessary resources and activities to help the students for better career planning.
16)    Organising campus interviews. 
17)    Organising placement training for students, preparing them for interviews and group discussions.
18)    Planning, reporting and conducting a sufficient placement campaign
19)    Prepares a database of some top international/national/Regional companies including their contacts, details of operations, expectations, HR team, etc. 
20)    Prepares a placement brochure having all the student profiles and communicating suitable candidates' resumes to respective employers.
21)    Preparing and submitting a request for resources required well in advance to the head of the Institute and coordinating with concerned sections to ensure the availability of the same to the students.
22)    Proposes an annual Training and Placement budget one month before the commencement of every academic year. 
23)    Provides information on the schedule of recruitment drives to all department placements coordinators, HoDs, Principal, and students well in advance.
24)    Raising students' awareness of the various career options available to them in the future and assisting students in developing and implementing successful job search strategies.
25)    Serves as a liaison between students, alumni, faculty and potential recruiters.
