Amrita Polytechnic College Library strives to generate enthusiasm and eagerness among the students and faculty and help them to make use of the available reading materials. It has a carpet area of 330 square meters, and it houses various sections such as Circulation Section, Digital Library, Reading Hall, Periodical Section, Reference Section, Stack Room Section, and Acquisition Section.

Library presently has 14223 Volumes with 4100 Titles. 18 Journals, 4 Magazines and all leading newspaper subscriptions are made every year. Books are arranged based on subject by using Dewey decimal classification, Number of books and Journals have been increased every year.

Library is equipped with modern computer and networking facilities and is automated with integrated library management software (KOHA) which provides easy access to information for Library staff and users for the purpose of searching, booking, etc.

Timing: - Monday to Saturday 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM

Library Rules & Regulations

  1. Users should sign in the register kept at the entrance before entering the Library.
  2. Personal belongings, personal copies of books or other printed materials / notebooks are not permitted inside the library.
  3. Documents & Library equipment should be handled with care.
  4. Being an open- access library, users are advised not to replace the book to shelves after reference.
  5. Student users are eligible to take 2 books for a period of 15 days, Faculty are given 5 books for a period of 90 days and staff are given 2 books for a period of 30 days.
  6. Books will be reissued/ renewed if there is no reservation. Only 2 consecutive renewals are permitted. For delay in returning of books, fine of Re. 1/- per day is charged.
  7. Reference books will not be issued on loan.
  8. Document such as Seminar reports, Mini Project reports and Project reports will not be issued but permitted for reference purpose.
  9. Students should produce their ID-Cards at issue-return counter.
  10. Borrowers are responsible for the loss/ damage of books during the loan period.
  11. Loss of books should be reported to the library immediately. It should be replaced with a new copy of the same/ subsequent edition within the due date or double the original cost of the book and fine up to the date on which the book is replaced has to be paid.

Digital Library

Library has a separate spacious section for digital Library with enough computer systems and high-speed networking facilities. The primary function of digital Library is to provide access to the students the following e-resources.

1) DELNET/Inter Library Loan (

DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. Our Library Shares resources through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to all faculty, students, and staff. ILL requests can be registered in online mode for textbook reference.   

2) National Digital Library of India (

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers, life-long learners, and all disciplines. 

3) NPTEL E-Learning (

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is the largest online repository in the world, and it is a joint initiative from IITs and IISc to offer online courses and certification in various subjects and topics, such as engineering, basic sciences and selected humanities and social sciences.

New Arrivals

New books are shelved on the “New Arrivals” shelves for a limited amount of time (usually 1 month) in order that library users may have a chance to browse new acquisitions and a list of new arrivals has been sent to user community by mail.
