Digital Library

Frequent updating of the collection and fully computerized systems go towards endearing the Centre to the students. In this regard, a digital library has been established with to access e-resources.

DELNET:

DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible.

NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY OF INDIA:

The National Digital library of India (NDLI) is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media. The NDLI provides free of cost access too many books in English and the Indian languages.

SWAYAM:

SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, India, that enables professors and faculties of centrally funded institutions like IITs, IIMs, Central University of Haryana to offer online courses to citizens of India.

SWAYAM, the free online education was developed by MHRD, Govt. of India and AICTE with the help of Microsoft. It offers hundreds of courses with transferable credits. All courses are offered free of cost under this programme, however fees are levied in case the learner requires a certificate.

NPTEL:

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003. Five core disciplines were identified, namely, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering and 235 courses in web/video format were developed in this phase.

The main goal of NPTEL Phase II (2009-14) was to build on the engineering and core science courses launched previously in NPTEL Phase I. An additional 600 web and video courses were created in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level. Several improvements such as indexing of all video and web courses and keyword search were implemented.
