Welcome to the Amrita Institutions, Nagercoil Library. The Nagercoil campus at Erachakulam, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District consists of three colleges.

  1. Amrita College of Engineering and Technology
  2. Amrita Polytechnic College
  3. Sun College of Education

Nagercoil Campus also houses three separate Libraries with necessary print, digital, audio/video, reprography resources, etc. These Learning Resource Centres supports the teaching and learning activities of all the Students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members and all other staff members in this campus.

College of Engineering & Technology

The Central Library has carpet area of 500 square meters. It has separate sections like spacious Stack Area, Circulation Counter, Information Desk, Digital Library, Periodical Section, Reference Section, Acquisition Section, WiFi Enabled Reading Halls for Boys and Girls.

The College of Education Library is having books competent for Pedagogic subjects and Perspectives of Education as per the latest syllabus of TNTEU. The Library supports the teaching and learning activities of all the Students and Faculty Members.

A WINDOW TO THE WORLD

The Education Library has a carpet area of 980 square feet. It has separate sections like spacious Stack Area, Circulation Counter, Digital Library, Periodical Section, Reference Section, Acquisition Section and Reading Space for Students and Faculty Members.

The library is functioning under an open access system having a large collection of books, Journals, Magazines, Model question papers 4300 volumes and 1200 titles. It offers students a wealth of knowledge with the surplus resources. The library stocks knowledgeable

journals and 5 magazines to keep students abreast of the latest happenings. The resources are constantly being expanded every year.

Library Rules & Regulations

  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
  • Silence to be maintained
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library
  • Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library
  • Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library

  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises
  • Being an open- access library, users are advised not to misplace the book to shelves after reference
  • Books will be reissued / renewed if there is no reservation. Only 2 consecutive renewals are permitted. For delay in returning of books, fine of Rs. 1/- per day will be charged
  • Do not make any mark with pen or pencil on books and periodicals. If any marking is found, students will have to replace it with a new book.
  • Document such as seminar reports, mini project reports and project reports will not be permitted for the purpose of photocopying
  • Loss of books should be reported to the library immediately. It should be replaced with a new copy of the same / subsequent edition within the due date. If the book is not available, 2 times the cost of books and fine up to the date on which the book is replaced has to be paid. If the book is out of print, the replacement cost will be fixed according to the discretion of the Librarian depending upon the importance of the book

Digital Library

Library is fully computerized and with the speciality of frequently updating the collection we go towards endearing the centre to the students. In this regard, a digital library has been established with 5 computer systems with internet facility to access e-sources.

NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY OF INDIA

National digital library of India is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. It aims at collating educational, cultural and other resources in a single platform and providing single window access to users of different educational levels. This digital library currently provides access to around 72 lakhs of resources from several sources.
