PEDAGOGY OF COMMERCE

 Commerce subject has a wide scope. This subject is very close to our daily life because it is a business study concerned with the exchange of goods and services.

As per the norms of TNTEU, Chennai the candidates, who have done their PG Degree in Commerce  can apply for Pedagogy of Commerce.

Commerce has provided immediacy to education. TNTEU syllabus focuses on recent trends in teaching of commerce. Constructivism is encouraged in the classroom. The learner-centered label now gets attached to teaching strategies.  Commerce teachers teach students how to think, solve problems and generate ideas those entire essential to mastering material in the discipline. Project method, Student seminar, group discussion, peer tutoring are the learner centered approaches. The student teachers are taught about Bloom’s taxanomy, objectives of teaching commerce, Herbatian steps in lesson plan, mini teaching, major teaching skills, visual teaching resources ,etc.

As per the B.Ed curriculum by TNTEU, the visit to innovative schools is a mandatory activity. The team of student teachers were led by the faculties Dr.S.Padmakala, Mrs. Remya, Mrs.Beula to Amrita Vidyalayam, Kanyakumari, LHL CBSE school ,Visuvasapuram, Comorin International school, Aralvaimozhi on 22nd February 2019 and 11th July 2019 respectively.

Objective

The visit to innovative schools was undertaken by the B.Ed students to observe the practising innovations in teaching, curriculum, examination, infrastructure and management in their neighbourhood.

Brief Report

The visit to the innovative schools gave the student teachers and the faculties awesome experience on novel innovative practices. The student teachers gathered information by interacting with the students and teachers of the schools. 3D laboratory, interactive white boards, robotics lab, science lab, mathematics lab, library practices, language lab were the highlights of the modern education system. Each school had its own uniqueness in teaching-learning transaction.
